Stolen coins Canada (Reported March 6, 2020)
More than $430K worth of coins, currency stolen from dealer after show A Vancouver dealer fell victim to a major theft after leaving the Calgary Spring Coin Show & Money Fair this past weekend. Joe Iorio, owner of J&M Coin and Jewellery, was checking in at the Calgary airport on March 1 when his bags were stolen, according to a notice issued by the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers (CAND) on March 3. Altogether, a total of $430,310 worth of numismatic material, including coins, paper money and bullion, was stolen. Bad Checks – Stolen coins (Reported 1/20/2020)
The following coins were bought using a bad check. The check was written by a John Martin using a London address. Zeugitania, Carthage; c. 350-320 BC, Stater, 9.31g. Jenkins-Group IIIf, 37. Obv: Head of Tanit l., wreathed with wheat, wearing necklace of pendants and triple-drop earring. Rx: Horse standing r. on exergual line; group of three small pellets before.
